Hi Goddesses
Today sees the collision of 2 things that ALWAYS happen in a nail challenge.
Number 1 - almost everyone has done the same mani lol - ants at a picnic!
Number 2 - mine sucked and I DID NOT CARE. Challenges are hard, and they feel like a bit of a conveyor belt sometimes, and when something turns out a little wrong, it's often hard to care about it, because you know you'll be posting something else on your blog tomorrow anyway .....
So here we go. Picnics. In my head, I think I thought I would be able to do plates of fruit and salad and sandwiches, but in the end I went with easy. Sarah from Chalkboard Nails did a great picnic mani (freehand of course) a few weeks ago, so I decided to use that as my starting point (for stamping, of course lol).
So there's not actually a lot of complexity to this mani. It's a red nail varnish, stamped using one of the new MASH designs, with some Wet n Wild Tangled In My Web for the ants lol.
Even the thumb was stamped - there's a cool wicker pattern on DRK-B. You'll notice how I deliberately smudged the polish on the index finger to recreate those threadbare parts you get on all well-used picnic blankets, and how I over-stamped the middle finger, to represent how the blanket always crumples up :)
Lol - enjoy xxx :)

So nice, love it! :)
ReplyDeleteI like yours, mine seemed lacking.
ReplyDeleteOMG I envy you the smartness of the DRK-B image and the basket! This mani looks a bit familiar to me but I'm not sure why bahahahahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteI love that the ants are so tiny. It's more realistic than painting them on with detail.
ReplyDeleteI love the mani. I agree with challenge mentality. I get that too ... I was going to do this design for picnic in next month's challenge, but it looks like I'll have to do something different.
ReplyDeleteAdorable, love the little ants!
