Zoya PixieDust - Chyna

Hi Goddesses

Here's the 3rd of my 4 PixieDust posts and instead of being excited to write this, all I can think of is "have you SEEN the new summer colours"????  If you haven't, you should head to the Zoya page right now, as they're amazeballs.  Summer bright PixieDusts.  Seriously, I die.

I expected Chyna to be my favourite Pixie, and I'm still kind of shocked that she's not.   I can't even put my finger on what it is.  Suffice to say, I think she just suffers by comparison with the subtle majesty of Vespa and Nyx.

Chyna is a ruby red, laden with the special Pixie glitter, and I think for me, this formula doesn't match the colour.  There's something almost dead and meaty to the colour of the polish, and I think that might be part of why it falls flat for me.  Or maybe it's just me!  Whenever I see other bloggers swatch it, I still sigh.  Go figure.

Also, in this polish, the silver glitter has blended with the red, creating red stars in a red night sky.   This is a gorgeous effect, but very different to the other Pixies.

Put some gloss on it and you literally cry that this wasn't released at Christmas.  This becomes the ultimate Christmas red - sparkly, sexy and just lalalalala.

Here's a couple more photos while I go and have a lie down and dream of the summer pixies :) xx

  1. I think this one is just really hard to photograph. It looked so incredible on my nails but when I opened up my photos I also thought "Hmmm, looks meaty." There is so much sparkle with the little silver bits in real life & somehow they seem to be getting a bit lost in even my most favorite bloggers' photos. I say if you have any interest in these at all, get them. They are really more gorgeous than any photo can convey. Though you did an outstanding job as always!
