Today I have for you 3 piCture pOlishes I was sent for review by the lovely Sally Magpies.
I've reviewed for piCture pOlish before, but I have to say, I think they had an underwhelming year in 2013. There were very few shades that I wanted to buy, and most of the blogger collabs left me cold. These 3 though are STELLAR.
Serenity is one of those polishes that really isn't me, yet still CALLS to me lol. There is something epicly beautiful about this polish.
Serenity sits on a sea-green base with a heavyish layer of blue shimmer. This means that at any moment it can look any combination of those 2 colours, but it's the way the shimmer catches the light that is truly beautiful.
And then the glitter. So perfectly judged in both shape and tone. Altogether, this adds up to so much more than the sum of its parts.
Believe. Ah, Believe. This is just epicly beautiful. This is a red toned purple, and beware, if you wear this, all you will do is stare all day.
Believe is one of those polishes that remind me of raw steak or beef :) It was deep bloodied tones, but then also that greeny-blue shimmer that sits on top of raw red meat.
This is just divine. The dark tones of the polish combine perfectly with the shimmer. There is nothing about this I don't love.
And finally Imperial. I said the Collabs had underwhelmed me this year. This was about the only one I saw and went WOAH. This redefines stunning.
We know I'm a purple lover, so obviously this is up my alley, but it's the tones, and the wattage that make this spectacular. This polish is positively electric, and it's a long time since I've felt something looked so beautiful on me.
For me, it's the violet shades that makes this polish. If you look closely at the macro, you'll see there are small flakies in a colder shade than the base, and I think it's the play off you get here that makes this polish feel alive. And who isn't going to love copper glitter in purple? Masterpiece.
These polishes were sent to me for review. If you are in the UK, you can pick up your piCture pOlishes at Sally Magpies, and whilst you're there, seriously pick up some Mentality polishes as well, you won't regret it xx
