Ugh, what a week! This post was supposed to be up on Saturday, but a nasty flu / tummy bug has been kicking me like a dog since Friday, and today is the first day I've felt alive enough to type some words into a sentence. So firstly, apologies to Jacava that this post did not launch on the same day as the other ladies.
Jacava is a high end UK brand which is 9-free. They've been steadily increasing their collection with fabulous colours, great formulas, and THAT unique wand, and this weekend launched the 17-piece Woodlanders collection, over half of which is great dusty bluey-greeny-purpleyness.
I chose 3 colours to review. First up is Kings Road, which is described as a light khaki sage, but is beautifully subtle, with the sage tinging the medium grey base.
I like the passivity of this colour. I'm big on greys at the moment, and this is infused with just the right amount of colour to remain perfectly autumnal. For me, this was more grey than khaki-sage, but a great shade nonetheless.
Ralston Street is similar, but different, the bluer twin to Kings Road. This one is described as light grey, and it's the perfect colour of the British autumn - rainy and overcast.
It does have a very faint bluish tinge around the edges, but it's barely there - just enough to add a hint of something more. This was perfect, and I'll be using this as a base for some nail art very soon.
Finally, Phene Street, described as a grey-blue-purple. This is a little darker and a lot more purple than the press release shows, and you'd be hard pushed to describe this purple as greyish or even bluish (it's a warmish purple).
Despite that, it's a great colour, again, perfect for autumn, and dark and dusty enough to really encapsulate the season.
Each of these polishes applies easily. I am a big fan of the huuuuuuge Jacava wand, which really does aid precision application. My only caution is that each polish does dry a click darker than the bottle colour (see the thumb photos), so just be on the lookout for that. Overall though, this is a really well balanced, high quality collection. You can buy Jacava HERE.
These polishes were sent for my honest review.
